Degaussers
Degaussers
Degaussers permanently erase data that is no longer required, increasing security and allowing efficient media recycling.
Eliminator 4000
Designed for high-volume production, Eliminator 4000 can erase 2000 oersted metal-particle media to "like new" in as little as 12 seconds. Compatible with 4mm, 8mm and other metal particle media, the Eliminator 4000 provides fast payback in production environments. Advanced patented technology eliminates excessive heating of metal cassette parts and reels that can damage tape.
Dataraser 105
Designed for 3480 cartridges, floppy diskettes, 9-track open-reel tape, audio cassettes, and other magnetic media, the Dataraser 105 offers permanent erasure of data to ensure information security. A proven "V" coil configuration erases media to its original blank condition in a single five-second pass.

Tape Tester and Copier
Inspector Plus 2000
The Inspector Plus 2000 provides the tools you need to manage your media more effectively. This comprehensive WindowsTM based system lets you perform intialization, copying, format conversion, tape comparison, and other utility functions off-line, keeping your mainframe resources free for your business processing.
The versatility of the Inspector Plus 2000 is second to none, with library support for up to 6 drives and 600 slots (media). The software allows control of multiple devices and SCSI cards automatically, plus full multi-tasking with virtually no speed loss (device/connection dependent).
Main functions available include the following:
- Copying/Conversion
- Compare
- Read/Write Test
- Initialization
- Validate
Copy/Conversion
Performs a bit-for-bit copy of your data to another tape. The source and
destination can be the same or different media types.
Compare
A separate function that compares any two tapes to each other. For instance, comparing
a copy to its original.
Read Testing
The read test function offers users an off- line system to verify the data integrity
of live data tapes simply by reading them and reporting the number and type of errors
encountered. Avoid using valuable system time to perform this utility function with
the Inspector Plus 2000.
Write Testing
When performing the digital write test, users can select a block size that corresponds
with the block size used by their mainframe system. As a result, tests from the
Inspector Plus 2000 will correlate with the mainframe drives.
In addition, error parameters can be set to abort the test if a tape exceeds any of the error criteria selected, saving valuable testing (certification) time. This procedure allows users to identify troublesome tapes that cause productivity loss on the mainframe.
Prior to writing over a tape that contains data, the IP2K identifies expired data by comparing the expiration date in the header label to the current date stored in the PC.
Initialization
Tapes can be automatically initialized in sequential order. For non-sequential Volume
IDs, a diskette containing volumes may be used. The software also supports the use of
a hand held bar code scanner as input for this and other functions.
Validate
This function verifies that the Volume IDs are correct. A comparison of the internal
and external labels using a list or hand held bar code scanner verifies a correct
label match. The creation and expiration dates and the first dataset name are
also shown during this function.
