On-site Eradication of 9840 Data - Tier 2
Your Data Security is our #1 Concern
Graham offers you two comprehensive on-site programs for 9840s in order to ensure the safety of your data. We will enable you to expand your intelligent asset management by offering your used 9840s for sell with the utmost confidence that your data will never be compromised. We understand that selling your used media could put you at risk of not meeting your internal Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
At Graham Magnetics, we are concerned about your needs of ensuring safe transport
of your data. We view the protection of your data as a security triangle. The three
sides of the triangle include the processes in the following areas:
For those whose internal requirements mandate that tapes containing live data cannot leave the facility, we can perform the data eradication service, (degaussing, where applicable) and re-write 9840s, at your site, thereby eliminating concerns about tapes leaving your control that contain your data.
With our on-site data eradication program, data from the tapes is overwritten at your facility, and you are able to audit the tapes at any time during the process to ensure the data is inaccessible.
The Process
- Graham Magnetics will provide 1 or 2, 9840 library units with drives, controllers and software on site.
The Process continued...
- We will set up and test this equipment plus train local operators to unload, box the 9840's, reload the libraries daily and start the process again. This load/unload/box process should take approximately 2 hours per day.
- Processing the 9840 cartridges means to write a pattern of "one's and zero's" in every bit position, every track, full length of every cartridge to totally overwrite the data on each tape thereby providing total eradication of all previous recorded information.
- Volume ID’s will remain in tack throughout the process for tracking purposes.
- At any time during this process, you will have the option of pulling processed tapes as an audit to verify that all data has been eradicated.
- Capacity of cartridges that can be completed is approximately 175 per day per library unit.
- Certificate of Data Destruction is provided.
