Graham Magnetics Announces Branding of Certified Tape Offering
Atlanta (March 20, 2006) - Graham Magnetics, a division of eMag Solutions, a leading electronic discovery company, today announced the company has branded its tape offering as Graham Certified Media in an effort to clarify confusion in the cluttered recycled tape marketplace and reaffirm its commitment to reducing data center costs and maximizing tape media performance. The announcement was made at the AFCOM Data Center World™ Spring Conference in Atlanta.
A number of different terms – including used, remanufactured, reconditioned, reclaimed and recertified – are currently used when referring to recycled tapes. Unfortunately, each of these terms has a distinct and separate meaning, and when used interchangeably, can create confusion in the marketplace. Graham Magnetics’ unique and proven certification process cuts through this confusion by guaranteeing that all Graham Certified™ Media will work regardless of how it left the original manufacturer.
The certification process begins with stringent data eradication procedures that erase all data from each tape. After data eradication and cleaning, the tape is tested on original tape drives with proprietary software designed to filter out tapes with marginal or poor performance. As a result, Graham Certified™ Media can perform as well as, or even better than, new tape that may not have been individually certified during the production process. Proof of certification and date processed are printed on each tape, and the company provides a 10-year warranty.
