Graham Offers Two New On-site Programs for 9840s as Part of it’s Intelligent Asset Management Program
with the utmost confidence that the data is secure
Atlanta (January 9, 2006) - Graham Magnetics, a division of eMag Solutions, LLC, today announced the introduction of two comprehensive on-site programs for 9840s to allow companies the ability to sell used 9840s with 100% assurance that no existing data will be compromised. The two programs, On-site Scanning and On-site Data Eradication, allow companies to track each tape during every step of the process while also verifying that all data has been removed from the tape.
With the On-site Scanning program, Graham representatives scan the tapes at the client’s facility with the Graham tape tracking systems. The tapes are then shipped to the Graham plant via secure carrier and the client is able to view the progress of the tapes every step of the way. Once received in Graham, the tapes are again scanned and reconciled to the original list to assure all tapes are accounted for during shipment. Scan results are then made accessible through a secure web site for the client to review.
At the Graham facility, an independent processing room, with an adjoining locked security cage, is designated for all high-security input tapes for 100% data overwrite. Tapes are placed on special carts, tagged for secure processing, and moved from the locked cage to the locked secure production room for processing. Only operators for that specific process have access to the tapes, thus eliminating the possibility of “high-security” tapes becoming mixed with “normal” production tapes. Once all data has been overwritten and final tracking reports have been processed, Data Destruction Certificates are sent to the customer on a weekly basis.
For those companies whose internal requirements mandate that tapes containing live data cannot leave the facility, Graham offers the On-site Data Eradication program. With the On-site Data Eradication program, data from the tapes is overwritten at the client’s facility, and all tapes processed are made available for audit at any time to ensure the data is inaccessible. Graham provides the necessary 9840 library units with drives, controllers and software to ensure the 9840s our processed in a timely fashion.
“Intelligent asset management allows companies to recycle their unused tapes through Graham’s tape buyback program,” said Marvin Howell, vice president of Graham Magnetics. “At the same time, companies must be assured that their data is protected and thus inaccessible. By offering these new on-site programs, our clients can verify progress at any step during the process to assure that the data is 100% inaccessible.”
