Graham Magnetics Participates in California’s Buy Recycled Campaign

Las Vegas (April 17, 2005) - Graham Magnetics, a division of eMag Solutions, a leading electronic discovery company, today announced at the AFCOM Data Center World conference in Las Vegas that it is participating in California’s State Agency Buy Recycled Campaign (SABRC), a joint effort between the California Integrated Waste Management Board and the Department of General Services to establish policies and practices for purchasing recycled-content products. As a participating product vendor, Graham Magnetics’ recertified media is available for purchase by all state and local government agencies. The use of recertified media can help these agencies meet policies and practices established by SABRC.
“There continues to be a tremendous demand for our recertified media from not only major corporations, but states looking to enhance their overall recycling programs,” said Marvin Howell, vice president of Graham Magnetics. “Buying and using recertified media helps ‘close the recycling loop’ by putting the materials we collect through recycling programs back to good use as products in the marketplace.”
Graham Magnetics tests its recertified media on OEM tape drives and other test equipment using methods that are often employed in the 100 percent certification of newly manufactured tape. The company also provides a 10-year warranty for every piece of its recertified media.
“When dealing with recertified media, most product vendors use weak degaussing and testing procedures that can lead to short archival life, low signal-to-noise ratio and damage from mishandling or improper storage conditions,” Howell added. “Our testing process, on the other hand, guarantees that error levels are at least as good as those demanded by industry standards for new media, thus ensuring the highest quality of recertified media available.”
